Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how the Bethany Expenses – Bank of West Autofill Chrome Extension ("the Extension") handles information. The Extension is an internal tool developed exclusively for use by authorized employees of Bethany and is not available to the general public.
Who Uses This Extension
This Extension is intended solely for authorized managers and administrators within the Bethany organization. It is distributed privately and is not publicly listed or searchable on the Chrome Web Store.
What Data the Extension Accesses
The Extension accesses the following information solely to perform its core function:
- Expense records – retrieved from the organization's internal expense
tracking system (
expenses.bethany.com) using your existing authenticated session. This data is only read and displayed locally; it is never transmitted to any third party. - CentreSuite page content – the Extension reads transaction rows on
the Bank of West CentreSuite page (
centresuite.com) to match and autofill expense form fields. - Session cookies – used only to verify that you are logged into the internal expense tracking system before making API requests. No cookie data is stored or transmitted outside your browser.
Data Storage
The Extension stores the following information locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage:
- User preferences (date range filters, confidence thresholds, autofill settings)
- Your last selected user (for admins and managers)
- Dark mode preference
This data is stored only on your local device. It is never sent to any external server or third party. It contains no personally identifiable information beyond your in-app preferences.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit passwords or login credentials
- We do not share any data with third parties
- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising services
- We do not store expense data outside of your browser session
- We do not use remote code — all extension code runs locally on your device
Permissions Used
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each strictly necessary for its function:
- Storage – saves your settings and preferences locally
- activeTab / tabs – identifies and communicates with the CentreSuite browser tab to trigger autofill
- Scripting – injects the autofill script into CentreSuite pages
- Cookies – verifies your authenticated session with the internal expense system before loading data
- Alarms – keeps the background service worker active while you are using the Extension
- Host permissions (
expenses.bethany.com,centresuite.com) – allows the Extension to communicate with the internal expense system and read CentreSuite transaction data
Data Security
All communication between the Extension and the internal expense tracking system uses HTTPS. The Extension relies entirely on your existing authenticated browser session and does not store or handle credentials independently. Access is limited to users who are already logged into the Bethany expense system.
Children's Privacy
This Extension is intended for use by adult employees only. It does not knowingly collect any information from individuals under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
